The Runaways Premiere Afterparty

In Floria Sigismondi’s The Runaways, Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning play punk lesbian lovers. However, on the red carpet of the film’s March 11, 2010 premiere, the two New Moon actresses looked every bit the dolled-up Hollywood femme fatales that they were.

Spectators headed to Bowery Hotel after the film’s screening, held at the ArcLight Cinemas’ Cinerama Dome in Los Angeles. At the hotel, Tommy Hilfiger cooked up a rock-and-roll celebration in honor of the movie.

Joan Jett and Cherie Currie, the film’s legendary subjects, came in the flesh at both the screening and the party. Lucky punk lovers and artists were able to get autographs from Jett at the screening.

Other famous faces, like actress Chloë Sevigny and rocker Dave Grohl, also joined the group and rubbed elbows with the punk rock goddesses. Director Sigismondi was also present, and so was Michael Shannon. Stewart’s foxy New Moon co-star Taylor Lautner also joined in the celebration.

Both Stewart and Fanning will appear with Lautner this summer for Eclipse, the third film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s vampire novels. Robert Pattinson, who plays Stewart’s lover in the vampire films, was visibly absent in the bash.

Grilled cheese and beer were passed around the room, while music from The Runaways’ original albums blared from the speakers.

Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland Royal World Premiere Party

Wonderland bled into the real world on Feb. 25, 2010 as Walt Disney Pictures’ honchos celebrated the world premiere of its hit flick Alice in Wonderland. A coterie of stars came out on the rain-soaked green carpet for the event, held at Leicester Square in London.

Braving the London rain was no less than The Mad Hatter himself, Johnny Depp. He was closely followed by co-stars Helena Bonham-Carter and Anne Hathaway, who played the tyrannical Red Queen and her White antithesis, respectively.

However, the two beauties did not provide the “royal” factor to the premiere; real-life royals actually attended the premiere. Charles, the Prince of Wales, and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, attended as guests who truly held court that Thursday evening.

Their royal highnesses eventually huddled with guests at the rabbit hole: the nearby Sanderson Hotel, with its atrium transformed as the evening’s Wonderland. Here, Mia Wasikowska (who sported a cropped mane), the Aussie newbie who portrayed Lewis Carroll’s beloved heroine, held her own among veteran thespians and patrician partygoers.

Bonham-Carter’s husband and the film’s director, Tim Burton, led a menagerie of Wonderland residents to the party. Attending it were Alan Rickman, who played Absolem, the blue caterpillar; Stephen Fry, the Cheshire Cat; Matt Lucas, Tweedledum and Tweedledee; Michael Sheen, the White Rabbit; Paul Whitehouse, the March Hare; Barbara Windsor, the Dormouse; Timothy Spall, the Bayard; and Christopher Lee, the Jabberwocky.

Crispin Glover, Lily Cole, and Sharon Osbourne also joined the mad premiere party, along with infamous “kissers” David Walliams and James Corden. Pop-punk chanteuse Avril Lavigne, who sang the film’s titular soundtrack, was also in attendance, as was Texas vocalist Sharleen Spiteri.

Alice in Wonderland’s Royal World Premiere transpired in aid of The Prince’s Foundation for Children & the Arts. This nonprofit strives to enhance the lives of children in Britain and Northern Ireland, such that they would rediscover and appreciate the arts.

Sundance 2010

This Year’s Sundance party was held at Park City, Utah January 21, 2010. As expected, the event planners whipped up several mind blowing accommodations for the festival goers to enjoy. First, there was Oakley’s “Learn to Ride” program, where a few of Hollywood’s top A-listers take the roles of snowboarders and skiers and get to dress the part too. The celebrities sported Oakley snow pants, hoodies, goggles and even lip balms for this event. To give these celebrities some help learning the sport were a few Olympic medalists and pro riders including Zach Leach, Danny Kaas, Gretchen Bleiler, and even Shaun White.

In addition to that, the Sundance Festival line up also included the annual Village at the Yard, which was held at another location; the Kearns Boulevard. This year’s festival goers enjoyed several of their perennial favorites such as the T-Mobile Diner, the Parish Nation, and the FredSegalFun.com Style Lounge.

The Village at the Yard also prepared a little something to surprise this year’s Sundance event goers. In addition to these long-time favorites, a Sephora gifting suite was also set up. Sephora’s beauty team had given complementary touch ups to the event’s celebrity guests. Apart from the touch ups, these celebrities also enjoyed piling up on several Sephora goodies.

Nintendo also made its presence known at the Main Street’s Island Def Jam House of Hype, as it brought its Wii Fit Plus workout game to the yard. Popping up in the midst of the Sundance buzz was the coolest of cool vapor water and green tea shots from Arizona Beverages, while people who needed a different kind of caffeine dose enjoyed free coffee from Café Bustelo.

These are only some of the activities that kept festival goers occupied this year. The Sundance Festival 2010 was a big hit, and for those who have missed it or haven’t gotten enough of it yet, they can always head back to the village next year.

New Moon Premier After Party in LA

The second installment of the vampire love story movie called New Moon may be about a love triangle, but on its premiere night after party, it was all about the couples.

After the screening of the sequel to Twilight, cast members from the movie, as well as their fans, headed to Los Angeles, California’s Hammer Museum.

Comedian Jamie Kennedy and singer-Ghost Whisperer star Jennifer Love Hewitt were at the party, which was Italian-themed to signify its affirmation to the New Moon Volturi scenes that were shot in Volterra, Italy.

A fellow attendee of the event said that Kennedy and Hewitt “were holding hands and walking around, they kept to themselves for the most part.”

“They looked like they were having a good time,” added the attendee.

There was also another group of co-stars who were said to be delighted to be part of the event. Cast members of the new musical television series Glee Lea Michele and Mark Salling were reported to have attended the gathering. The two were seen giggling and whispering to each other, and seemed to be flirting despite Michele’s representative reiterating that the two were not in any kind of relationship.

Since the party had an Italian theme, the food served was also Italian. The party served CRUMB Bake Shop Twilight-themed cupcakes, which were served by caterers who wore red cloaks. The venue’s outside terrace was designed with extra plant decorations and red lanterns that were hung from tree branches, mimicking the Forks forests where the movie was shot.

The main stars of the movie, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, were said to have gone to the VIP area right after Pattinson and Stewart tried to avoid discussing the current status of their relationship. However, according to another source, the two young celebrities “didn’t hang out at the party.”

A Single Man Premiere

Tom Ford’s debut film, A Single Man premiered this past Sunday in New York. This project has been earning great praise along with everything else the designer touches.

Julianne Moore, who originally met Ford in 1998 raves, “The more I’ve gotten to know Tom, the more I appreciate him. He’s someone to whom the important things matter.”

The movie is an adaptation of Christopher Isherwood’s 1964 novel about a single day in the life of a bereaved professor. The cast of the movie includes Colin Firth and Nicholas Hoult. Most American’s probably remember Hoult as the young boy in “About a Boy”. But Hoult is all grown up now, towering at six-four.

The after party took place at Monkey Bar where celebrities such as Courtney Love, Rachel Roy, Ellen Barkin, and Mario Testino. After receiving many toasts, Tom Ford found a table with Madonna and retreated to the back of the party.
