J.Lo’s pink and blue baby shower
Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony celebrated in style the much awaited arrival of their babies. “Maid in Manhattan” producer Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas organized a baby shower for the couple. The exclusive party was held in New York City at Gramercy Park Hotel’s rooftop. The celebration was held in the afternoon of January 19, 2008.
Two of the couple’s good friends where the special guests at the party: designer Roberto Cavalli and Leah Remini, an actress.
The room was predominantly decorated in pink and blue while sparkling Swarovski crystals were strewn all over the place.
J.Lo’s pregnancy was confirmed only in the latter part of 2007 when she announced it at the end of her El Cantante tour in November. The following month, December, J.Lo’s sister, Lynda, gifted the couple with matching baby suits in pink and blue fueling even more speculations that they were having twins. But during the baby shower, J.Lo and Marc Anthony did not confirm nor deny this insinuation. However, one of their guests was spotted carrying a gift for 2: one for a baby girl (wrapped in pink) and the other for a baby boy (in blue).
The Latina singer, who was due to give birth several weeks after the stylish baby shower, arrived at the party with husband Marc. Both were elegantly dressed; J.Lo looked fabulous in her modish A-line pleated coat while Marc looked handsome in his casual grey slacks, black V-neck top, and dark long coat. J.Lo’s chic outfit hid whatever small amount of weight she gained. They were escorted by a bevy of bodyguards.
Several precious gifts were handed over to the couple at the party. Cavalli, famous for his leopard prints, handed the couple a charming and stylish baby gift at the catered party: a pink leopard baby crib; definitely every baby girl’s dream!
Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony’s twins, a boy and a girl, were born last February 22, 2008. The twins, Max and Emme, had the same pink and blue-themed when their parents’ friends, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, threw a welcome party for them in March 2008.
